I am certain that you have been told about the 300 workout system by now. The workout that the stunt team and cast members from the movie of the same name performed.
Oftentimes a movie takes off for no obvious reason.
And sometimes the reason is quickly obvious. Take 300, for instance. This epic account of an ancient conflict between the Spartans and Persians included the kind of eye-popping visuals and head-snapping violence that men can't get enough of.
An abundance of women, too, relished the parade of ripped abs. The film made a record $70 million in its first weekend and generated more than $450 million domestically since its March 2007 release..
Gerard Butler even showed up on the cover of Men's Health, since then resulting in quite a movement to uncover the secret behind the 300 workout.
The 300 workout program was the brain child of Mark Twight, the founder of Gym Jones. In 2005 Mark qualified the cast and stunt team for the 300 movie. He used a good deal of different approaches and regimens to get the guys rip abs and have that toned carved look. Even though the strategies changed, his philosophy remained persistent. Hard work and conditioning... visual appeal, flat stomachs, and rip 6 pack abs are all the end result of excellent fitness. Make someone fit and they will look strong and toned. That is precisely what he did to get the Hollywood stars to get the physiques of Spartan warriors.
One of the most well known training videos on the net has been the "300 Workout, " as demonstrated here:

"One actor from 300, Andrew Pleavin, completed the workout in 18 minutes, 11 seconds, " says Ballantyne. "He didn't practice this workout... and neither did I. My time? 19:07. My butt was kicked by a Hollywood actor! "
"It's a brutal workout, starting out strong and slowing down, finishing at a crawl, " explains Ballantyne. "I don't plan on doing that any time soon or, really, ever again. "
For a Spartan-sized challenge to your daily program, consider this your new fitness gauntlet:
Pullups - 25 reps
Deadlifts with 135 lbs - 50 reps
Pushups - 50 reps
24-inch box jumps - 50 reps
Floor wipers - 50 reps
Single-arm Clean-and-Press with 36 lbs Kettlebell - 50 reps
Pullups - 25 reps
All exercises are executed without planned rest in between steps. Not surprisingly this is an advanced workout... you shouldn't do it unless you are already in very good shape.
It has been examined and replaced since the movie. It has been copied, and altered by many fitness professionals, trainers and exercise enthusiasts.

what is a good ab workout you can do on a fitness ball?
My favorite is a curl, suspended on the ball. Lay on the ball, with the ball at the small of your back. Then move up like you would with a curl, but as you're isolating your abs to bring your upper body up (your face would be facing the ceiling, as with a floor crunch) use your lower ab muscles to stablize the ball and bring it slightly up, towards your head.
So think of a curl on a fitness ball, but instead of just allowing your upper and side abs to do all the work, also concentrate on isolating your lower abs and rolling the ball towards your head (away from your feet) very slightly. As you try it, you'll understand the motion. Do 3 sets of 15 and you'll be SORE the next day.
